Does your car have a full tank? It is preferable that your car does not have full tank when you have it shipped for safety purposes. Aside from safety, the fuel just adds so much more weight to it than is necessary.
Gas enough for in and around the terminal is close to what you will need in the car. Having enough gas to get your vehicle to the next gas station is just about right. Leaving the gas about a fourth full will do.
Are there valuables and other things inside your car, such as accessories, tool boxes, and the like? If you have, make sure to remove them before leaving it off. Your car is the only thing covered by insurance, whatever item lost is not included in the insurance.
Only vehicles are permitted to be transported through auto transport companies. Leaving other items inside the car is definitely a no-no. If you will insist on leaving some things in the car, you do so at your own risk; if they go missing, you may not demand the company to answer for it.
Do you have a convertible car? Then don’t forget to close the top before shipping in order to protect your car from the elements. You still have to have the top on even if the auto transport truck to be used is a closed one.
Have you checked your car for any leaks? The auto transport company needs to know about things like these. This ensures safety for everyone and all the vehicles in the transport.
The auto transport crew would still need to drive around your car inside the ship and terminal before the transport. Keep in mind that the crew of the transport will be driving your car in and around the terminal. Tires should be properly inflated and the battery charged for the crew not to experience any problem while driving your car.
